18th January 2016

Welcome to the latest Club update.

It's been a frustrating week for the Salts.

On Tuesday we were caught with an early goal and never really got going at home to Ashford Town (Mx) who dumped us out of the League Cup by three clear goals. Then we were unable to bounce back at home to Spelthorne on the Saturday because the game was called off!

We then saw Hartley Wintney progress in the Vase, meaning that our match with them on Saturday 30th January is also off. This isn't such a bad thing really and we congratulate them on their achievement.

So we are kicking our heels until Saturday when barring a heavy snowfall we will surely be playing at Windsor. They have a great playing surface there and we have won on our previous two visits, so there is every reason to be positive.

Following the Windsor match we will be holding our Fund Raising evening on Saturday 23rd January. We will be running a quiz with a difference. It is a category based quiz and will be presented by a former footballer at this level, Martin Firmo. Those who have seen him before say he is very entertaining. In addition we are holding the event at the very local Epsom Common Working Mens Club in Epsom, so why not come along. Entry is £10 and you need to be there for 7.30 so have plenty of time to get back from the match. If nothing else it is an oportunity to meet the players too as they will all be there, so please try and get a team up and speak to a Committee Member to book your place. Even if you can't get a team up, we can put you into a team, so please still come along.

Come on you Salts!
