Welcome to the latest Club update.

On Saturday we took on AFC Hayes at High Road and had to settle for a point from a 1-1 draw.

It is always disappointing to drop points, especially having been ahead for a large part of the game, but whilst I felt we were the better team, the performance wasn't as good as recent ones and maybe we didn't do quite enough to win over the ninety minutes.

It doesn't help when your main striker is away as Kyle Hough had a family engagement on Saturday but seeing as Kyle nearly didn't start the season at all, due to his ever-growing family, we are fortunate that he only misses a game here or there!

This does beg the question of how do you replace a player like this when he is away through family or even through injury? On Saturday that job went to Rob Hendry, but to be fair to him, the service wasn't very good and despite this he did create our goal with a dangerous low cross. I am sure that if and when Kyle is away again, Rob will get another go in that position.

It is one of many difficult questions for our Management team to answer in what is becoming a cut-throat season for Managers in this division. We have now seen four departures in our division this season already with Redhill, Spelthorne Sports during the week and since Saturday, Badshot Lea and Guildford City have also lost their man in charge. This is something that we've never seen at this level before and whilst it may be commonplace higher up the footballing ladder it is still a surprise to see it here.

All I can say is that we are a very stable and loyal club with just eight different Managers in 42 years and we are more than happy with the job our team are doing. Unbeaten and in third place in the league there is no reason why we can't retain a position around the business end of the table, something everyone at the club hopes will happen.

On Saturday we host Farnham Town, a decent team that finished in the top half last season and they represent a good measure of how far we can go this term. Can we win? Why not come along next Saturday and find out!

Come on you Salts!
