Welcome to the latest Club update which now reverts to a weekly basis again.

On the field

Our prestigious friendly against Hoddesdon Town on Saturday finished in our favour by five goals to three. Although we were leading 5-1 at one point, the match was fairly even for the first hour and it was only when Kyle Hough scored twice after 66 and 70 minutes that the visitors resistance was finally broken. They had undertaken a long journey and encountered the M25 on one of its awkward days, leading to a late kick off. It's at times like this you realise how lucky we are that we don't have to travel too far too often, although we do hope to arrange a return with our new, or should that be old, friends from Hertfordshire, probably around this time next year.

We have no midweek match this week and our next friendly is on Saturday when we make the trip to Haywards Heath to face St Francis Rangers. A preview of the game is on the front page of the website.

Off the field

Next Sunday we host our Annual General Meeting at 8pm at the Epsom Common Working Mens Club. Come on down!

I have also heard this morning that League fixtures are to be released earlier this week than originally thought. Our League Secretary Alan Constable does an excellent job, especially as we don't help him by sharing with a Ryman League club, so he has to wait for those fixtures to come out before he can do too much! Once we know them, we'll let you know; here, and on Twitter and on our NEW Facebook site!

Yes, we do now have a Facebook site. It's a little basic at present as I'm just learning the ropes but if you are facebook members, please look in and give us a like. The address is on the front page of our website. I will try to keep this up to date as soon as I can, following each match, although for now, Twitter will be the only facility that will update during a match.

That's all for now. The next Editorial will be released on Monday with a report of the Annual General Meeting.

Come on you Salts!
