Welcome to the latest Club update.

If last week was considered a mixed bag then I'm not sure how you would describe this week's action!

Following our disappointing showing at Horley on the Easter Monday we had to go again at Molesey who had surprisingly lost twice over the weekend to teams well below them in the table. Based on their performance on Wednesday I am completely puzzled as to how they could have lost those games as they dominated us from start to finish in a 5-0 win and we could have no complaints.

Three days later we travelled to Windsor; a team that had beaten us 5-0 back in January but we won at Stag Meadow by three clear goals and hit the woodwork twice!

Whilst Windsor are clearly not Molesey they are still a top five outfit so this was an impressive victory and moves us up to seventh as Badshot Lea have hit a sticky patch. With two games left we are four points behind sixth placed Spelthorne while Badshot Lea are two behind us with a game in hand and a better goal difference so it may well be that eighth place is our likely finishing position but our finish to the season has been a pleasant chance from recent years where we have often tailed off, and whilst we won't be finishing as high as we have in the last couple of seasons, I think we have played well and cannot recall many days where we have been outplayed so there are plenty of positives to take as we lok towards the new season.

Of course, it's not quite over yet as we face two teams in a real relegation scrap; Knaphill at home on Saturday followed by our trip to Frimley Green on the final day of the season.

Knaphill may well finish out of the bottom three and recorded an important 4-2 win over Guildford on Saturday. For Frimley the damage of twenty straight losses was always going to be difficult to cope with and they are now certain of a place in the bottom three but with nobody sure exactly how many would drop from our division, every place could be crucial.

Saturday also provides your last opportunity this season to succeed in the Salts Super Six Predictor competition. The jackpot is currently £95. Why not come along and have a go? There will also be a bumper end of season programme available and the forecast is great. See you there?

Come on you Salts!
