Welcome to the latest Club update.

The New Year has brought further bad weather, but this could be a good thing. Why?

Well, South Park are at the top but their pitch is the most vulnerable to wet weather of the top four clubs and this is important.

I stressed earlier this year that if South Park got a few points clear, then it would be easier for them to play football, free of the fear of being caught at the top. However, the three chasing clubs, ourselves, Camberley Town and Windsor, have extremely well draining grounds, and this means that there could well be occasions when South Park will be off, but other clubs at the top will play, almost certainly closing the gap and increasing the pressure on the leaders.

This weekend for example, both Epsom and Camberley should be playing while South Park will travel to flooded Cobham for a match with Mole Valley SCR. If we can close the gap with a win there, we could then go top three days later with a win at Raynes Park Vale and points on the board could make all the difference if we end up with a fixture backlog as was the case for everyone last season.

It's really very close at the top and looks like being a very interesting end to the season if all four teams keep up their form. If you haven't been to see us play recently, then it's time to add a home game to your list of New Year resolutions, starting with the Farnham visit this Saturday!

Come on you Salts!
