19th January 2015

Welcome to the latest Club update.

On the field Farnham Town came, saw and conquered us on Saturday by four goals to two and I thought, looked a very decent side.

Of course we were still missing three players through suspension and you have to wonder how much they are costing us this season. Not just in terms of playing short on the day of the red card, but in subsequent matches where Glyn has been left with very few options at times.

At least things are beginning to ease now. Matt Ferdinando has completed his suspension now while Ali Dewar has returned from holiday and attacking threats have been increased by the return of Robbie Burns, who I am hearing looked sharp in training, although is ineligible for our Surrey Senior Cup match with Molesey, whenever it is played.

The draw for the League Cup Quarter Finals is being made tonight and we will bring you news as soon as we know it. Some very good sides remain, although some like Ashford, Molesey and We are of course due to visit Walton Road on Tuesday as we make our second attempt to play this match with a place in the Quarter Finals as a prize. With Wimbledon, Woking, Kingstonian, Leatherhead and Sutton United all out of this competition, there could be an unusual name on the trophy again and why can't it be a Combined Counties League side; if not us or Molesey, then maybe Badshot Lea, Westfield, Ashford Town (Mx) or Colliers Wood, all of whom remain in the competition curreently.

Following Tuesday's visit to Molesey we have a bit of time off and do not play again until Saturday 31st January, when Westfield are our visitors. However, if Tuesday's game is off, there is every chance that we may have to meet the following Tuesday 27th January, so leave that date clear for now, as the forecast for tomorrow is not great!

Off the field We nearly had a winner on the Salts Super Six Predictor competition as TEN people got five results correct! The jackpot continues to rise to £195 and will be active for the Westfield match.

Come on you Salts!
