5th January 2015

Welcome to the latest Club update.

Following a break over the Christmas period due to a postponement at Raynes Park Vale the Salts faced a bit of a problem last Saturday at home to Windsor when missing the majority of our midfield as a result of suspensions and holidays! We then suffered another early red card as Dan Dean was adjudged to have made a dangerous challenge in the 14th minute of the game! We then conceded after 30 minutes and the signs looked ominous.

Despite this, our boys gave a committed performance and kept the match competitiive until the final fiften minutes when a rather fortuitous second goal broke their resistance and ruthless Windsor then added three more goals to make the scoreline a rather unflattering 5-0!

Some of our players are back shortly which is just as well as tough trips to Ashford Town and Molesey face us next. The League table shows the Salts in thirteenth place after our goal difference took a bit of a hit and bizarrely our Manager's record since taking over now reads at 10 wins and 10 defeats with an identical goal difference!

We have no midweeek fixture and in fact, no fixture pressure at all as we are well up on our matches and can accommodate a decent cup run if required. We remain in the Surrey Senior Cup (last 16) and the League Cup (QF) so you never know!

A quick update on the Salts Super Six Predictor competition as we had no winners over the Christmas period and the jackpot is now up to £157. This will be active for Saturday 17th January when we host Farnham Town so why not have a go or two!

Come on you Salts!
