Welcome to the latest Club update.

We have a mixed week to report on with one win and one loss for the Salts.

I had recently referred to our struggles in terms of taking chances but we made up for that at Mole Valley's temporary Cobham ground on Tuesday, racing off to a 2-0 lead after just 6 minutes and despite allowing them to equalise, we bounced straight back and ended up clear and worth winners.

Against Molesey on Saturday we found ourselves on the wrong end of a good start that ultimately cost us the points as we were never able to recover the deficit. A 2-0 hole so early in the game is not the best way to take on a free scoring Molesey side although it has to be said that I thought we were no worse than them for the remaining eighty minutes and although we scored one penalty, we should have been awarded two others which might have enabled us to get away with a point.

This week we have nothing on midweek but travel to Guildford City on Saturday for a League fixture. I am sure no one thought Guildford would be struggling so much way back at the start of the season, but their heavy defeat at Spelthorne Sports on Saturday leaves them second from bottom of the table. That said, Chertsey were in a similar situation a couple of weeks back and we played poorly against them, so will need to be ready for whatever Guildford throw at us.

In fixture news: Our League game at home to Hanworth Villa is now postponed due to their Vase progress so it looks very likely that we will have a Saturday off. We also have the 20th December off too because of bringing forward the Bedfont Sports trip so if you want to see the Salts at Chipstead before Christmas it will have to be midweek!

Just to finish off, the Salts Super Six Predictor went live on Saturday, although no one won the pot of £50. Because of ticket sales, the next pot prize will be £85 and we will be running it on Tuesday 2nd December at home to Camberley Town. All you have to do is get six results right. How hard can it be!!

Come on you Salts!
