Welcome to the latest Club update.

On the field We have had two matches this week, and the first of these was on Tuesday when we defeated Knaphill by two goals to one in the League Cup.

It wasn't our greatest day in front of goal as many chances went begging, but we rarely looked like conceding and in the end were more comfortable winners than the scoreline indicated.

On Saturday we played against Ashford Town (Middlesex) and they beat us by four goals to two. This was a much tougher encounter although we gave as good as we got and if it were not for a bad spell just after our equaliser at 1-1, when we conceded twice just before half time we would have had every chance. Instead we were fighting an uphill battle in the second half and even then got the score back to 3-2 and were pushing for an equaliser before a late breakaway goal put a gloss on the score for the visitors.

There were many positives to take from the game, if not the result and we have learned that we are as good as the teams above us. Whether we can do this consistently we shall find out on Saturday when we travel to Camberley Town; a bit physical side that will give us a lot of questions. Will we have the answers? Come on down to Krooner Park and find out!

Off the field We hope to have some news shortly regarding the possibility of a new ground back in the Borough. Yes, of course, you've heard it all before, I know, although things are moving well at present and I will be pushing our Holding Company for an official statement when we meet with them this Wednesday.

I have got used to giving our chances of a ground as a percentage in recent years. This figure has swung in both directions before, but if you were to ask me today, I would say that we may even be up to the dizzy heights of 60% likely. If that may not sound too high, it is because a number of things still have to be completed before we can "put a spade in the ground", some of which are beyond our control, but rest assured, at our end, things are moving in the right direction, and as I say, I hope we can release some more information shortly.

In the meantime, please keep supporting your club. Sponsorship opportunities are available in addition to replica team shirts and if you want one, especially if you are the sort of person it is hard to buy Christmas presents for, then this is an ideal option for your other halves, sons, daughters or parents to get for you!

Come on you Salts!
