Welcome to the latest Club update.

There is very little to report this week, as the first team's two matches fell victim to the weather.

It was not a total surprise to see that the Raynes Park game was called off, having already been postponed on 9th November, but it was a surprise, despite the wind and rain to see that the Chipstead pitch failed an inspection. This was only the second time since we've been there that Chipstead was waterlogged, following a Surrey Senior Cup tie against Leatherhead back in November 2012.

To be honest, I'm quite glad the Windsor match was off, as I would have hated for us to lose such an important match due to freak weather conditions. By a quirk of the fixture list, we will now meet on Tuesday 11th February, which will be thirty years to the day since we defeated their forerunners Windsor & Eton 4-0 in a season where we both went up. Of course these days, only one team can go up, so hopefully the conditions will be better when we next meet.

Auriol Park must drain well as our Reserves still managed to play their League game, defeating Mole Valley SCR by four goals to two and it is a pity that the club aren't advising the kick off times for their games, as they might get a few along to support when the first team are off. Currently they sit in third place in the League table.

Finally, please note that our new countdown starts today, the 100 Memorable Matches in club history. Some were a long time ago, but many were recent, and of course, it's no secret that our Cup Final win over South Park will be in there, but at what number? You'll have to wait and see!

All that remains is to wish you all a Happy Christmas and to ask you to please keep following and advertising this site as it will expand further in the New Year.

Come on you Salts!
