Welcome to the latest Club update.

On the field The Salts continued their successful pre-season with two good wins on the grounds of Sussex League opposition this week.

Following on from the win over Walton Casuals we travelled to Haywards Heath on Tuesday for a meeting with St Francis Rangers, who were midtable last season in the Sussex League Division One and who beat us in the F.A. Vase down there in 2012.

Despite trailing twice we fought back to equalise twice and a late Karl Douglin goal gave us the winand I felt it was a fair result as we just did a little bit more than the home side.

We then visited Horsham YMCA for our Dave Wilson Trophy match on Saturday and in truth, had a rather comfortable afternoon against a team that finished much higher than St Francis had last season, winning 5-2 in the end.

Whilst this was an excellent result, it was also nice to see us reclaim the Dave Wilson Trophy for the first time since 2008 and fortunately Gemma Jarman was there to take photos. Although Mark Jarman has taken an early retirement from the game, for now anyway, I'm pleased to say that Gemma has confirmed that she will still be at many of the games, so regular photos will be available.

Our final friendly is at Croydon on Wednesday evening before we head in the opposite direction to start our League programme with a trip to Farnham Town on Saturday.

Off the field Following last week's changes there is much less to report this week except to advise that from next Monday 5th August, this website will become the official club website. All news will be relayed here so please let everyone know, and hopefully if you are a new visitor you will find plenty of information available of interest, be it stats, latest team news, or our enormous historical archive. This website is close to being the most informative non-league club website in the Country and we will be expanding further over the next few months.

For new visitors, all I would say is to please check out the welcome area on the front page of the website and please keep looking in!

Come on you Salts!
